For such a small town we are blessed with many good and even great places to dine out, Opinions expressed below are compiled from both our guests and our staff's personal experiences and thus are intentionally biased. ENJOY!

In Poncha Springs – (Little town at junction of Hwy 285 and Hwy 50)
Grimos – Italian, cozy romantic decor, 3 course meals reasonably priced. Favorite with locals Reservations recommended. Closed Sun/Mon. (719) 539-2903.

The Hunger Junction– Where Hwy 285 meets Hwy 50: 1) A bright green food truck trailer and
2) A hamburger and Ice Cream stand. Great comfort food, lots of Cajun, and excellent BBQ. Open until 8pm daily.

VINO SALIDA - Our local winery has wine tastings and some food, live music on FRI/SAT from 5-7pm.

ELEVATION Brewery - Most Coloradans swear by the brews, plus they have a dandy food truck out front.
In Salida – Restaurants out on Highway 50
Hwy 50 Burger - Excellent food, not just burgers. Look for a building that used to be a Burger King. (Owners used to own Laughing Ladies and have a great reputation).

Wallbanger's Sports Bar- Fun atmosphere – with sporting events TV views from every chair. Kids gameroom. Good filling food. Try the chicken fried steak! (719) 539-9544

Quincy's – Only ONE fixed menu each night – Starts at approximately $ 10.00 for a steak or prime rib dinner depending on the night – very good for the price. (719) 539-4351

Dominos – Actually quite good for a chain! Will deliver to the Mountain Goat Lodge.719-539-1999

De Pasquales – Excellent pizza and calzones– good for takeout. (719) 539-1188

Fast Food Places: Sonic, McDonalds, Subway

The Firefly – very good, innovative, reasonable, (not much atmosphere). Closed Mon/Tue 719-221-6170

Patio Pancake – local favorite serves breakfast only.

The Lost Cajun – Very good Cajun/creole style food.
Mo's Burritos ; Not just burritos, you can customize your dish. Closed on Sundays. Has a pet-friendly patio.

Gnar Tacos: New innovative taco joint – Excellent. James Beard Award winning chef!  Closed Sun/Mon

Currents – Delicious fresh seafood, steaks, specials each night, salads, Friendly help, reasonable. (719) 539-9514

Las Camelinas – Best Mexican restaurant in town – our favorite (of the Mexican Restaurants) 719-530-0405

The Fritz – Gastro Pub across from the River Park, excellent Tapas style menu and bar (719) 539-0364

The Biker and the Baker – Great appetizers and cocktails – open Thu-Sun only.

Benson's – Local bar with live music and really good bar food. Same owners as the Fritz. (719) 539-9391

The Victoria Tavern – fun tavern with live music on the weekends. (No food served). 

The Boathouse Cantina –On the river, good place to drink and watch the boaters, food is on the upswing! (719) 539-5004

Mama D's – Good for a quick lunch, this diner has hot dogs, sandwiches and burgers. (719) 539-2228

Moonlight Pizza – Always delicious pizza, has their own brewery and homemade sodas. (719) 539-4277

Amica's Pizza – Wonderful thin crust artisan style pizzas, Italian food and brewpub. 719-539-5219

Cafe Dawn – little coffee shop downtown. Wi-fi. (719) 539-5105

Gathering Grounds – new coffee shop with excellent coffee, snacks.

Sweetie's Bakery and Deli – The very best sandwiches and other delights .(719) 539-4248

Little Red Hen - delicious bakery.
IN BUENA VISTA (20 miles to the north of us)
Asian Palate (closed on Tuesdays) – Delicious Pan Asian food, on Main Street.

Quincy's – just like the one in Salida

Simple Eatery – nice and earthy - comfort food. Ice cream in the back.

Eddyline Brewpub – pizza, burgers, brewpub (2 locations)

House Rock Kitchen – Healthy choices, delicious large portions.

Lariat Tavern – This bar has good food and live music.
